Utah Resort Pathway Lighting Project: Evaluating Solar Bollard Lighting Solutions

SOLTECH recently had the opportunity to support the early design phase of a resort development in Utah by providing sample solar bollard fixtures for evaluation.

The project team was exploring solar-powered pathway lighting that could provide dependable illumination while complementing the architectural character of the development. To assist with their evaluation, SOLTECH supplied samples of the CARMEL and SUNDIAL solar bollard lights for on-site review.

The photos show the CARMEL and SUNDIAL sample fixtures installed on-site during the evaluation process.

The samples were installed by the project team to evaluate their appearance, light output, and overall suitability for the proposed pathway design.

After testing the fixtures, the customer shared positive feedback regarding their performance and build quality. They noted that the fixtures provided good illumination and felt sturdy once installed. Along with the positive performance, the team also mentioned that they envisioned a slimmer, more elegant bollard design for future phases of the project.

As part of the discussion, SOLTECH explained that custom fixture dimensions may be possible for larger projects, provided the overall proportions remain compatible with the integrated solar panel and battery system. We also confirmed that future production can be manufactured in the customer’s preferred LED color temperature to better align with the project’s design goals.

Projects like this demonstrate the value of evaluating lighting solutions early in the design process. By providing sample fixtures and working closely with architects, developers, and engineering teams, SOLTECH helps customers balance aesthetics, performance, and long-term reliability before final product selection.

We appreciate the opportunity to support this Utah resort project during its design phase and look forward to continuing the conversation as the project develops.
