Solar Lighting for Community Mailbox Clusters

The Project

A residential community was looking for a way to add lighting around several of its community mailbox clusters. Some of the mailbox stands were not located near existing streetlights, and running new electrical wiring to each location was not practical. They reached out to SOLTECH to see if solar lighting could be a good fit for the application.

The Solution

We recommend the SOLPAD 10W, an integrated residential solar flood light that does not require trenching, electrical wiring, or a connection to the electrical grid. The community started with one SOLPAD as a test. The fixture was mounted to the mailbox stand, and the adjustable solar panel and light were positioned to get the best sunlight and lighting coverage.

The light was set to operate at 30% illumination at dusk and increase to 100% when motion was detected. It then turns off at dawn

The Results

After installing the first light, the customer received positive feedback from neighbors and was happy with how the light performed. They also found the installation and adjustment of the fixture straightforward.
